Flying Leap is a spacious 4-bedroom mountain lodge nestled near the top of Round Hill, in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. We're on a private little half-acre, overlooking our own little gateway to Tahoe's vast National Forestlands.
At the same time, the house is just minutes from downtown South Lake Tahoe, with its casinos, ski resort, golf courses and beaches.
This comfortable home features large living room with views of the forest and ski slopes, two large outdoor decks, a huge kitchen, a two-car garage, a loft with home office, a washer/dryer, high speed cable internet, private WiFi network, two and a half bathrooms, and a dining room that seats 8 (or 10 maybe, I don't know).
The house is available for rent throughout the year at affordable prices for families and other groups.
Adventure on your doorstep.
Skiers and Snowboarders: You can see Heavenly Valley's California slopes (and a slice of Lake Tahoe!) from the back deck. You're 10 minutes drive from the Stateline Gondola, and maybe even less to the better skiing accessible from the Nevada base lodges.
Hikers & Bikers: Step out your backdoor and into 10 million acres (well who knows, but its a big number anyways) of National Forestlands. One of the trails leading out of your backyard leads all the way up to Tahoe Rim trail and beyond. Inquire about hikes in the area.
Kayakers, Sailors and Sun-Tanners: You're just a short walk from Nevada Beach State Park, where you can rent a kayak for a paddle on the legendary crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe. They have BBQ pits and benches stretched across several miles of beach front. If you're looking for more excitement, there's a bar at the beach on Zephyr Cove, where you can also rent a jet ski, charter a sailboat or book a ride on a sunset cruise to Emerald Bay.
Golfers: Lake Tahoe is a premiere golf destination thanks to our warm summer weather and stunning lake and mountain views. There are four fantastic golf courses in South Lake Tahoe, including one with spectacular lake views just 10 minutes from the house. Learn more about golfing in South Lake Tahoe.
Families: This place was made for you.
Parents can enjoy some intimate privacy in the master bedroom off the main floor. The kids and other family members will sleep in the three large bedrooms downstairs. You'll have a wing of the house to yourselves.
Oh and there is a mirror on the ceiling of the bedroom. You're on vacation after all.
Why is the house called Flying Leap?
The house is named after a quote I liked from Anna Quindlen to the Wesleyan University Class of 2009:
"Certainty is dead. Long live the flying leap. Take it. Use it. Bring it."
